Echo in Training: A registrars experience

My Talk

My experiences in learning Echo as well as the experiences of some of my Registrar colleagues and the difficulties/helpful things during the learning process. I will also talk about a few examples of when I’ve found it really helpful and when it has changed management for me.

I was born and grew up in Melbourne, around Mordialloc and the Mornington Peninsula. I studied a bachelor of Science at Monash and then went on to do Medicine with Monash as well. I’m a PGY7 ACEM Advanced trainee who has principally worked at eastern health and now St Vincent’s health in Melbourne. I’ve being doing POCUS consistently since 2020 when I did my 6 month ED ultrasound term under the guidance of Dr Lindsay Bridgford. I have completed my CCPU in BELS, AAA, EFAST, lung and proximal DVT. I have also completed the Graduate certificate in clinical ultrasound (GC CLINUS) through Melbourne Uni and I intend to continue with this and get a Masters in Clinical Ultrasound.
