Sharpen your diagnostic accuracy. Strengthen your procedural confidence. Elevate your MSK game.
This practical, hands-on workshop is designed for critical care clinicians looking to enhance their assessment and procedural skills in musculoskeletal POCUS. Using a mix of live models and phantoms, participants will explore a broad range of acute presentations, refine their ability to recognise clinically significant pathology, and practice ultrasound-guided interventions relevant to emergency and acute care settings.
Across focused scanning stations, you will work through:
Joint effusions: knee, hip, ankle and shoulder identification, plus aspiration and injection techniques
Shoulder pathology: effusion recognition, dislocation identification and reduction guidance
AC and SC joint assessment: subluxation and dislocation screening
Fracture identification: wrist, clavicle and sternum visualisation
Soft tissue assessments: abscess vs cyst differentiation and ultrasound-guided aspiration
Foreign body localisation: identification and removal strategies
Tendon pathology: Achilles and patellar tendon injury recognition
Ultrasound-assisted procedures: lumbar puncture planning and needle guidance
Designed to improve speed, accuracy and confidence at the bedside, this workshop equips clinicians with practical diagnostic and interventional skills that translate directly into better, faster patient care.
